Cheap Flights to Amsterdam Cheap flights from within Europe and direct flights from outside Europe are readily available, serving Amsterdam airport Schiphol – Europe’s fourth largest and located just a few kilometers from the city center.
Here's a sound piece of advice to all travellers: make sure you get to the airport in plenty of time! That way you will have a relaxed start to your journey and will also have some time to take a look around the shops or go for a bite to eat. We recommend the following check-in times for flights:
- two hours prior to departure if you are flying to a European destination - three hours prior to departure if you are flying to a destination outside Europe

By Car Arriving by Car is fairly straightforward, however driving and parking in the city are not. The A10 Ring (Ringweg) encircles the city and receives all major freeways. Drivers from the north should exit the Ringweg at the Ij-Tunnel Exit for quick access to the city center. Exit at Jan van Galenstraat if coming from the east and at Nieuwe Utrechtseweg from the south and west.
